Stoker provides a wide range of classes from beginner to advanced. Contact Stoker if you desire training in any area not listed below; to arrange a private or group class; or if you want to arrange Stoker coming to your location to instruct a class. Class sizes can be accommodated between 1 and 20.
LAND NAVIGATION

Designed for: Beginner to Novice. Students will traverse 3-5 miles through the wilderness.
The ability to effectively navigate can result in your ability to thrive in the wilderness, and prepare you to operate in a contested environment. Each year, thousands of search and rescue operations are conducted to return or recover those who became lost or suffered injuries.
This course is designed for those who have no experience as well as the novice, and present the fundamentals in both a classroom environment and land navigation course that will take you beyond military standards of proficiency.
Cost is $200 with a couple caveats: YOUR child (under 18) may attend for free (provided they traveled in your vehicle). Parking is limited, and groups are small as a result. IF you plan on carpooling with others, let Stoker know so he can adjust the class size as needed. You will pack all of your equipment (including food, which is not provided) – once we depart, there will be no returning to vehicles. Conditions are austere (no electricity, running water, etc).

KNOTS AND SHELTERS

Don’t get all knotted up! In this course, you will leave having fully mastered and retained the ability to utilize the most common knots and lashings in order to build a shelter. From constructing multiple styles of ridge lines, or building a debris shelter knowing the right knot for the right purpose can enable you to quickly and effectively build a shelter whether you’re backpacking, camping, or finding yourself in an emergency situation.

Designed for: Novice to experienced. Students will traverse several miles through the wilderness off trail.
Go beyond the basics and master your craft of navigating the wilderness.
This course is designed for those the novice to experienced outdoorsman. The course begins in the classroom, but the majority of the time is spent outdoors and the student will travel upwards of 5-10 kilometers in austere conditions.
Cost is $400 with a couple caveats: YOUR child (under 18) may attend for free provided they travelled in your vehicle). Parking is limited, and groups are small as a result.
