Six degrees off feels like nothing.
Walk a thousand meters and you’re about a hundred and five meters off. That’s a football field and change. You’ll catch it at the next trail or the next creek and never think about it again.
But hold that same six degrees and never check. Somewhere around sixty-six kilometers in, you’re not on the map in your hand anymore. Hold it all the way around the world from Helen, Georgia, and you end up roughly 2,500 miles south of your own front door.
Not one step of it felt wrong.
The question I get asked most about navigation is what you’d do if you got dropped in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a map and a compass. It’s a good question. But almost nobody gets dropped. They walk in, one unchecked step at a time.
So this week’s video isn’t about finding yourself once you’re lost. It’s about the loop you run so you never get that far: predict, move, confirm, correct. It ends with an old word most of us have been hearing wrong our whole lives.

FIELD PHILOSOPHY: LOGIC
Logic isn’t a personality trait. It’s not the same thing as being smart, well-read, or good in an argument. Logic is the set of rules deciding whether a conclusion actually follows from what came before it, rules nobody invented and nobody votes on. A thing can’t be true and false the same way at the same time. If the premises hold and the argument is valid, the conclusion holds too, whether you like where it lands or not.
Most men never learn the rules directly. They absorb a rough version arguing badly for thirty years, the same way they absorbed grammar before anyone handed them the word “verb.” That’s why two reasonable men can both feel certain and still be wrong, and why the man who talks fastest often wins a room he shouldn’t have.
The common failures have names. Liking the man makes his claim feel truer than it is. Attacking the man instead of the claim. Assuming the answer inside the very question that’s supposed to be proving it. None of these are new tricks. Men have been running them, and falling for them, since before anyone wrote them down.
The value isn’t winning more arguments, though you will. It’s catching yourself before you build something real, a business, a marriage, a case you’re making to your own son, on a floor that never actually held.
